Very Old World in style. Nose has deep graphite/pencil notes, deep-toned minerals, ripe blackberry/cassis fruit. Broad and deep in the mouth, with ripe dark berry fruit and clingy dark minerality. Surprisingly good balancing acidity, but unlike many Aussie reds, this acidity seems natural, not added. There's a concentrated core of fruit and enough fine-grained tannin to ensure several more years of development. Very nice!

Sep 4th, 2017Dark color. Quite fruity right after open but it gains more character if you let it sit. Black currants, dried dark plums with other dark fruit. Some leather.
