I had this a while back but remember having my socks knocked off. Big ol body, lots of tertiary notes— forest floor, tobacco, leather, cedar— but very balanced with the still present red & purple fruits.

May 19th, 2017Some quite smoky oak hanging around bearly 20 years on, the wine has turned from its ripe red and blackberries to a bouquet of raisins, dried figs, stewed prunes, plum jam yet still has its stalkiness, leafy tones and menthol hanging around. Certainly prefer to drink this as a youthful wine but quite impressive to see how well it's holding up.
