Strange aromas & confusing expressions when first opened (dusty library books?), but this wine settled down nicely into a light, refreshing read. Unsweetened cranberry and soft minerality paired with a kiss of baking spices (mostly clove) & a hint of black pepper on the pallet. Really liked it, but it was unexpected. — 3 years ago

The first time I had this wine I liked it— mature, round, cooked fruit forward. The second time I had it… not so much. Same vintage, but Heavy violet & lavender notes (not in a good way) + a little barnyard. Not sure what happened but not a fan. Drank more like a Beaujolais then a Chianti. — 3 years ago
