Jan 12th, 2017Not bad; but not great. Came highly recommended at my local LCBO. Nice start with decent fruit. Smooth finish, but very little tobacco/cedar or depth that was promised. Raymond, Frei Brothers, Beringer Knights Valley all better choices IMHO for the extra few $$.

Apr 15th, 2016Deep scarlet ruby glass with translucent Crimson rim. On the medium nose, anise, black cherry, blackberry, tobacco and vanilla. On the palate, a mild acid wash of medium body brings fruit forward black cherry, blackberry, licorice into an Oakey cocoa predominance. Soft round tannins lead to a medium finish of white pepper, cocoa and berry bliss. Good balance and structure make this a bargain value at $11.99 USD. Great conversation sipper or lighter meat dish but not quite enough bite for your steak.
