Sweet, pretty cherry and cedar stretched taut over a fine grained frame with excellent acidity.

Intense, brooding, and complex nose. Dark cherry, plum, sandalwood, and charcuterie. The palate is med/full bodied, med acidity and delivers quite opulent sour cherry and plum fruit. Smoke and chocolate on the end palate. Very long. A bit heavy relative to a burgundy, but the flavour profile, complexity, and length do not disappoint.

Deep ruby. Dark sweet plum, salty and floral. The palate is med-full bodied, med acidity, soft-med tannin. There is a dark savoury element that gives the wine gravitas. Beautiful balance. Power without weight. Powerful and beautiful.

A bit better than the other bottle I bought of the same - some variation but when it’s on target a superb wine full of red fruit, freshness and balance. Everything I hoped for from a great producer. Five or six years seems to be the ideal for NZ reds, this one is drinking superbly

Slightly petillant at first, but really grew into it
