Peay Vineyards
Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
The 2020 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is a lovely appellation-level wine. Crushed red berries, spice, floral top notes and a touch of blood orange give this tasty, ethereal Pinot a good bit of brightness and enough complexity to support fine drinking over the next few years. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2023)

Feb 13th, 2022Mid to light crimson in colour. Red fruited, cherry and strawberry, and light spice - a touch of Sous Bois. Surprisingly light in palate weight - more fruit than savoury driven. Tastes a lot younger (and fresher) than 7 years of age. A sweetish jujube character on the palate - light tannins and acid. The following night, a stewed rhubarb character on the palate. In summary a very good new world Pinot if not a little on the light side.

Nov 29th, 2019Mid crimson in colour. Initial aromas after decanting of oak and vegetal notes. A little reticent. On the palate just medium weight with M plus Acid. At this age needs food. Probably just at the beginning of its drinking window - latent power, yet to blossom into its best expression. Revealed more on the 2nd night with quite a sweet palate developing. Will leave my 2nd bottle for a few years. A quality Pinot with a good future.

Feb 22nd, 2019Dang! What a nose! Bright red fruit accented by distinct notes of hibiscus tea, flowers, cinnamon, and a touch of earth. Silky palate. This is extremely quaffable.

May 31st, 20182016, a other tightly wound pinot I had the pleasure to try. A bit simpler than it's big sister by its side but has a total of 9 clones blended so I'm going to venture to say it will be ever evolving

Dec 26th, 2017Rich, ripe black cherry, fleshy dense core. Earthy, black mushroom, sandlewood, and woodsy spice with soft texture and juicy fresh acidity. Pairs great with stranger things!🙃
