Rich and ripe with dark berry fruit without being pruney - more mineral and earthy but still full bodied. A good point of difference compared to the Barossa. Both different - both very good. A bit heavy on the American Oak. Definitely a winter wine.

Very dark - almost black still with tinges of purple on the rim. Typical McLaren Vale - earthy full bodied with Liquorice and masses of blackberry. Ripe Tannins with some oak derived spice and a little astringency on the finish. Very early days for this McLaren Vale brute ( in a good way!).

Pushing the jammy end of the scale, would like more tannin to contain it though. Nice enough but was hoping for more esp with JH 97 pts

Have to admit, Mclaren Vale fan, Paxton fan, was let down. Maybe my expectations were too high? Lacked depth and complexity, so strange for this area and vineyard?

Like drinking a whole jar of jam with every smell of the glass. Aged beautifully. Long long long palette and amazing fruits, mostly red with a heavy dollop of vanilla and spice. Mouthfeel is very smooth and compliments the fruit beautifully.
