Cuvee-Viticole Sonoma County Syrah

No, it’s not the Hillsides (I think I drank all of mine 🙁) but it’s pretty damn tasty.

Yes, as everyone has said, you would not guess this is new world. You would also not guess it was good.

Hazy pale purple; medium intensity aromas of blackberry jam, blueberry, boysenberry, cranberry cocktail, blackberry, olive; youthful; dry, medium plus acid, medium minus tannins, low alcohol, medium body, medium plus intensity flavors of juicy blackberry, cranberry cocktail, subtle olives, yeastiness, medium finish; very good

I’m willing to admit that maybe this...whatever this is...is what they were going for, but this is just not my style. Not classic new world and not classic old world. And not good.

Great - old world nose and balanced fruit. Great medium bodied wine.

Had this before and liked it a lot more. Wondering if the wine is hibernating now and will wake up at some time... it does have a lot of structure, acidic backbone and plenty of tannins.

This was a bit too stemmy for me. Underneath the green notes resides a nicely crafted Syrah of modest alcohol and extraction.
