Les Sauvagères St. Péray
Pretty wine, showing peach and lime with a chalky finish. Worth every bit of the €8.50 I paid.

Sep 18th, 2020Bit of a funky nose, leafy / herbaceous, slight dried apricots, medium bodies, slight flabby acidity. So so.

Apr 29th, 2013100% marsanne from St. Peray, the southernmost part is the Northern Rhône. Most wine from this very small AOC is sparkling, but this is a still wine grown on chalky limestone soil. Pale yellow in the glass with a flowery bouquet, some apricot, a little bit of herbaceous funk. Medium acid, a little bit fat, but enough brightness to keep it lively. A bit of mineral chalkiness, lavender and citrus on the palate, relatively short finish. Tasty but not very complex. Best young.
