From a supposed "off vintage" Paul and his team nail it as this wine delivers in all aspects: color, nose, flavor, texture and finish. Personally I love Paul's wines and cut my teeth on his wines. Even if you dismiss all new world wine you can't ignore the perfect balance and concentration that Paul achieves. Truly unique wines that many try to be like in Napa but fail to achieve this kind of heady balance. It is indeed a style and is well done but not well copied, as much as many may try.
95% CS, 3% PV, 1% each CF/Merlot
Only 65% new oak for 20 months
Single vineyard sources: Properties: Nathan Coombs Estate, State Lane, Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, Beckstoffer Las Piedras, Stagecoach

Do NOT discredit 2011. Just a beautiful vintage if done right.

Another rich chocolatey new leathery cab from Hobbs. Always love how balanced they are on the palate wth such a rich nose. Needs some time as tannins still pretty rough.

Deep ruby coloration. On the nose lavender, black olives, black licorice and black cherry. On the palate, very flat, cherry with a peppercorn and olive finish.

When first tried this 2011 $95 πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Cab was not showing well but since a few years ago it has evolved into a yummy 😈 drop - reminds me of the non overpowered πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Cabs of old πŸ˜‰

4.25 ⭐️ / 92-93

πŸ‡ 95% Cab S, 3% Pet V, 1% Malbec, & 1% Cab F

🍷 Opaque dark ruby

πŸ‘ƒ Chocolate covered blackcurrant w/ minerals, blueberry, plum, red berry, lavender, light oak & gravel
