Less jam, some earthy tones, but still with the new world style more evident

Tanjins a little drying, other than that great.

Second time around for this bottle after tapping it with the coravin. Much better this time. Wonder if it needs more bottle age.

A solid wine from one of my favorite Napa producers. A big wine that benefited from decanting. It was tasted against an Oakville powerhouse, also a 2006, and the Paul Hobbs was the clear winner. Smooth and refined despite the initial rush of tannins. Currant and berry flavors with a hint of minerality. The nearly 10 years in the bottle plus decanting served this wine well.

2006 - was nearer its end, and definitely past its peak, not nearly as satisfying as the 2010 year of the same wine

Yum, not sure whether I like the filet or the wine more!
