Patrick Piuze
Coteau de Fontenay Chablis Chardonnay
More open and overtly aromatic initially than the other 2016s from Piuze. Showing some ripe orchard fruit as well as citrus, slightly more color and viscosity- I’m guessing there was some very subtle micro oxygenation. Oak is all neutral and is adding some texture to the mostly briny, oceanic finish. Slightly herbal note on the nose and the finish suggesting fennel or anise.
