La Chevaliere
Terpenic nose, ripe white boned fruit, flowers, too ripe in the palate, baked apple. Lacks freshness

Nov 9th, 2022Big, ebbullient and deep nose. Black berry, black cherry, granite, some herbs as well. Very pretty and very refined for a Chevaliere. Palate is dense, juicy and explosive with awesome tiny berry red fruited intensity and a lovely granite cleanse on the finish and then a lovely hit of olive. Juicy and really nice tannins. This needs more finesse to be a Cote Rotie but it is close! Terrific power and concentration. Lovely wine.

May 6th, 2021An under 20$ northern Syrah ( actually 99% Syrah/1% viognier). Bright and absolutely charming with some of that meaty teeth you would expect from Northern Rhone Syrah.

Oct 4th, 2020Nose of beef jerky, spice, olive, black olive. Granite and some flowers. Very N. Rhone. Deep clay. Intense. Very very aromatic. Palate is juicy, fresh and elegant. Pure and clean. If lacking a tiny bit of extra fruit the surrounding years provide this wine. It’s excellent but needs 10% density.

May 5th, 2020Lively nose shows Szechuan peppercorns, moist gravel, rusted iron, and raw beef. The flavors parallel the nose but are surprisingly light. Very nice acidity.

Sep 20th, 2019This is feral Syrah. Bloody, iron and granite notes together with a whiff of barnyard mostly outshine the nice blackberry skin fruit. Lively and fresh, yet surprisingly deep in the mouth, with savory and minerally flavors mostly. Great fresh acids. Quite an electric experience.

Jun 8th, 2019A great Le Chevaliere. Bacon, flowers, mineral, violets. Fresh, vibrant, sweet and velvety with lovely powdery tannins and terrific florality. Lovely finish.

May 22nd, 2019More mineral than 15 and juicy. Excellent purity. Deep. A baby. Needs 3 years.

Feb 1st, 2018This is a sick value in 2015. Sick. Stunning baby Cote Rotie nose of candied cassis, black fruits, minerals, violets, some bittersweet cocoa and more. Sick aroma. What a value. Rich, ripe and refined but needs 1 hour to really get going. So clean, granite driven and pure. Sappy and ripe. Great freshness. Killer wine. Can't ask for anything more.
