The value and quality this has makes for a nice little drop of wine. Lifted, pure, pliant to enjoy casual without losing posture. Engaging nose of crushed strawberry, wild raspberry, toasted grain, turned leaves and fleshy undertones. Palate is juicy upfront then through the finish its mineral and herbal charm follow through; turned dirt, cinnamon, underbrush and tea leaf. True spine and grip of ‘14 vintage evident.

Bright, medium bodied Pinot. Slightly earthy nose with hints of rose petals. Tart cherries and medium tannins.

Étude préparatoire. Jolie rencontre avec un visage plutôt moderne de la Bourgogne.

2020 vintage. Last tasted 11.16.22 (9.2). California pinot-styled with medium body, rich, ripe fruit and cranberry acidity vs cedar-laden tannins. This visit not as smooth with the acidity but still worthy. Wouldn't mind hitting once a year for the next 3-4 years as it should develop into a fairly. harmonious effort at an affordable price. 11.25.23.

Great burgundy perfume of flowers, cranberry and cherries. Very fresh palate on opening. Raspberries, cherry and strawberries. Wine gets more serious after 30mn with a bit of leather and herbs. Good acidity and lightness on this one. Lacks substance for the long haul but up to 2025 let’s go!

Aetherical, elegant and ready now. Juicy and fresh. Looking forward to taste other Rion wines soon.

Great wine alone or with food. A little spice but not too much.
