Hmmm, this is supposed to cost $5 when not discounted to the $2.99 it was at Grocery Outlet. Strange. Looks like the label design would cost more. Looks like a decent CA red in the glass. Smells like decent CA red. Slightly funky with that home wine oxidation thing going on. Taste is a bit fruit bombed. Lots of ripe grapes in there. Oak is restrained though. It’s simple and certainly ain’t going to up the complexity reputation for CA, but I expected borderline undrinkable and this isn’t that. It’s on a par with middle shelf stuff, much better than those Crane Lake, Sutter Home and Charles Shaw wines down on the floor.

Smooth with a peppery after taste. Great cheap wine.

Though they don't list the vintage, I will say that the 2015 release is amazing. Full fruit with a definite blackberry at mid-palate (blend of Syrah, Grenache and heavy Tempranillo). The finish is smooth and begs for more imbibing. I can't wait to see how this ages. Pairs well with sourdough bread and wounded trumpet players.

One of the best wine price vs. quality! An excellent cote du Rhone type!

Mouthwatering bouquet of blackberry cobbler and candied orange. Sweet maple. Sweet tanins, a little grip, pucker factor of 7, surprisingly clean finish.
