Del Mono Tinto Malbec Syrah

Lovely 50-50 blend, no oak, lots of good fruit, but also smoky and pepper. Maybe some honey too. Easy to drink, not too tannic.

Dark fruits and peppery. Too acidic for my taste. Reasonable complexity and finish for the price.

Great Blend, I like it…. Oddly it worked well with Halibut for the Halibut

Pop and pour through an aerator.

NOSE: cocoa, barbecue, baking spices, clay, a slight grapiness.
TASTE: as the nose, but fruitier. Medium weight. Tannins give the impression of bitter dark chocolate. Impression is too sweet for me, but a good deal for what I paid for it. 88.

This Malbec Syrah blend is heavily influenced by the Syrah. Ok as a dinner wine. March 2023.
