Passaggio 2014 Roussanne: Roussanne is a white grape variety typically found in Rhone (France) blends (north and south). Grown in Lodi, California, this is a very nice rendition from Passaggio Wines. It delivers that lovely, [slightly] unctuous texture that Roussanne is known for; complemented by flavors of honeydew melon, white flowers, nuanced notes of spice, and trailing suggestions of stone fruit. A beautifully balanced and expressive wine that is well worth seeking out, it sips nicely on its own and is versatile enough to pair with a wide range of foods. Like a fuller-bodied Chardonnay, don’t serve it too chilled.
