Reserve True Grit Mendocino County Red Blend
So delicious! Very smooth with a long finish. Carignan, Zinfandel, Grenache, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Souzao, Tinta Cao and Touriga National blend. A lot of grapes I love and some I’ve never heard of. Will pair nice with my lasagna. TGIF!

Nov 1st, 2017Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, smoke, chocolates, mocha, peppercorn, vegetables, earth, leather, coke and pencil lead.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, strawberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, earth, spices, peppercorn, dark chocolates, graphite and vegetables.
Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This 5 year old Red Blend from California is still young, which surprised me a bit. Not fully balanced yet, but already showing nice complexity. A good food wine with a soft mouthfeel.
Needs an hour to open up properly.
A blend of Carignane, Zinfandel, Grenache, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Souzao, Tinta Cao and Touriga Nacional. Aged for 34 Months in 40% neutral oak and 60% redwood.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
87 Points.
$18.
