Napa Valley Red Blend

This was really expressive on open. A bit of a punch in the face but good tannic structure. Has time.

Opens up nicely after a couple of hours to show some mushroom / earthy notes, with some creaminess on the palate.

Just smelling this put me in wine heaven.

Cut the steak really well, earthy and smooth. Would also pair well with a pasta

This one came fresh out of the wine fridge and needed a bit of time to warm up and breathe. Once it did you were in more a nice treat - an almost even split of Cabernet and Tempranillo from two select vineyards in Napa. My drinking companions seemed to notice the Cab while I was far more aware of the Tempranillo. White pepper, black pepper and old dusty fruit (showing its 10 year old age) mingled with black earth and boysenberry syrup. I bought this bottle so I wasn't blind tasting this one, but I could have easily imagined this coming from the Ribera del Duoro in Spain.

Delicious. Tastes luscious.

Blackberries and a hint of tobacco. Smooth mouthfeel with a dry finish.
