Gorgeously perfumed and intense with crushed black cherry, exotic spice, dried flowers, and hints of cedar. On the palate, it showed its youth with formidable tannin, yet had so much density and focused tart raspberry fruit, that I can only imagine what might lay in store for the future. Dark, potent and spicy--it's hard to put the glass down. Minerals, cedar and spice lingered on the finish. This is a wine to put away for a decade or two, and not at all what I would expect from the 2009 vintage.
