Paolo Bea
Rosso de Véo Umbria Rosso Sagrantino
Sommelier, International Wine Guild; Balistreri Vineyard; Sales, Joy Wine and Spirits
A powerhouse without being manipulated into being so. Long, extended tannins with plump, ripe black cherry in the front. Yet again, wild, unique acidity that cannot be explained conventionaly. 2009 vintage

Intensity on the edge! Black and over-ripe bramble fruit, black olive, stewed meat, chocolate, and cola. This wine is alive and singing with acidity! An intense dried floral perfume, but surprisingly low on potpourri/spice. Incredible wine!

Wow! This Sangrantino and the New Year's menu at Prospect were a perfect match. Cherry notes were complemented by wine grape flavors. This was something special.
