This excellent Sangiovese is unfiltered and has a maroon rather than ruby tint. It is slightly fuller of body than your typical Sangio and extremely polished, and worked well as a pairing with vegetable pasta dishes, with chicken sausage on the side. Plum and currant flavors prevail up front leading into a tart black licorice finish.

Drinking the 2012 in 2020. Excellent clarity with a lighter ruby color and legs that quickly dissipated. Light fruit forward bouquet, with hints of ripe plum. Sweet flavor, almost dessert like. Smooth on the palate with almost no tannins. Nice appetizer wine or excellent for a warm afternoon.

Nice Sangiovese that opens up with air, but overall too much oak for me. I get vanilla, baking spice, almost bourbon on nose and palate. There is some great fruit, meat, and floral undertones which save this one for me. Not my style.
