Forgot this one in the cellar. Full-bodied, boozy and needs time to open. Prunes, sour cherry, smoke, tar, leather, grilled mint and cumin. A real punch in the face. From Serrralunga. In its drinking range but not a personal favorite

Super elegant with notes of dark cherry, dried roses, faint tar, teak wood, dried herb. It's difficult to pull out individual notes - very cohesive right now with medium plus tannins and chalky finish. Fruit is still lingering, but subtle. Beautiful with roasted beets and braised Swiss chard!

In a great place right now. Bitter chocolate, dark cherry, a little tarry. Best window is probably in next few years

Dark cherry, anise, tar, cedar... At its peak but should hold nicely. A touch of VA but still beautiful.

Dark ruby garnet coloration. Not translucent. On the nose, ripe plum, sour cherry, florals, balsamic, menthol, spice and leather. On the palate, full bodied, cherry, pepper, cinnamon, spice, anise, clove. Many levels on the palate and a medium finish before the tannins take over. Tannins still strong after 16 years. With gnocchi bolognese it’s another level of wine with a long finish of dark cherry, florals and anise.

Deep red, tar, balsam, light bodied w lots going on. Chocolate, acid lift, Forest floor for miles. Barbaresco lovingly tended.. tannins are just right. Cuts through rich protein/ fat like a knife. Gorgeous!
