Blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 6% Malbec and small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Deep Ruby red with aromas of ripe berry fruits, spice and floral notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currants and smoky oak with earthy floral and black pepper notes. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with fruit, toasty oak and floral mineral character. Will still age a bit but nice now! Tasting Sample!

Nov 30th, 2022Always well above the waterline. Needs time. Lacking the depth and complexity that I’ve come to expect from this winery. Still very strong, but with time, I’m hoping it’s gonna step up into a heavier weight class. Mixing metaphors, but you get the point.

May 28th, 2018Too young resulting in a disappointment relative to expectations. This vintage should be stored for a decade. Fruit bomb in the nose with stewed prunes/plums and heated blackberries. The palate falls a bit short and not well balanced, again I attribute this to the youthful nature of this vintage.

Jun 24th, 2016Awful late dinner, 8 bottles in mistake. Not Pahlmeyer's fault. This was like beating a baby seal and complaining that it tasted rubbery. So so young, massive and unyielding. Tasted like the '17 vintage. Can't rate but hold this fucker and don't wake it until it's done sleeping.
