Remarkably given it's age, a little tight on first opening. Decanting brings out plummy, stewed prune fruit, almost port-like nose, oak, and a hint of walnuts in the tannins.

Dark ruby color. Blend of Tempranillo and Tinta del Pais. Nice aromas of cedar and cooked berries. Big plum, black currant and blackberry compote fruit flavors with well integrated oak. Hints of tobacco, fig, leather and vanilla. Medium-long finish. Nicely balanced. Intense, but smooth and easy drinking. Pleasant surprise.

Couple of hours to open up (no decanter). Color is that of a ruby crystal. Intense ripe cherry and light sandalwood aromas. More berries and and a hint of vanilla essence in the mouthfeel. Medium bodied, firm and gripping tannings, long finish reminesant of chai spices.

This is a good bottle. A Gran Reserva at that, with 2 years in oak and three years in bottle before release. One can taste the robustness of the terroir towards finish and on the finish itself!

This bottle has got potential... Enough said.

Easy drinking. A little spice on the end, and moderately tannic. Liked it!
