A random Total Wine pick up, the bottle features Syrah from Red Mountain AVA, produced by Page Cellars, a small boutique winery in the warehouse district of Woodinville. The Red Mountain AVA is a sub-appellation in the Yamika Alley AVA, a further sub-appellation of the Columbia Valley AVA. Red Mountain features gravelly, high alkaline, calcium rich soils with the south facing side of the mountain receiving more warmth and sunlight than any other area in the Columbia Valley AVA; it is only natural then that this area specializes in the classics, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, etc. The AVA has produced wine rivaling the best that California has to offer and are typically sourced at a high premium. Paired with homemade red sauce linguine. Yum! ~$24 | #pagecellars #redmountain #syrah

On the eyes: Deep, concentrated, opaque, black-purplish blood color, med+ stain, med+ tears, no gas/slight floc.

On the nose: Violets, black cherry, brown sugar, light chocolate notes, med+ alcohol.

On the tongue: Med+ tannin, med+ alcohol, med acid, full body, chewy soft tannins. Violet, jammy cherry compote, smokey, leathery, punch you in the face flavor with a long oaky, cigar box finish. Decant!
