P. Licht-Bergweiler
Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese
Cork was a disaster: top crumbled and then just had to push in and pour through a fine sieve...but the wine was phenomenal. On the nose: soft petrol, lychee, basil, honey..the aromatics are so pure and compelling. On the palate: fantastic acidity and density, honeyed apricot, lychee, and then a long, viscous finish. Lovely.

Feb 7th, 2021My bottle was already compromised, with a dried-out cork that fell apart. The wine had turned orange in color. After being open 1 hour, the nose greatly improved and the off flavors decreased. Nevertheless, the wine was past its expiration. There were some nice notes of honey, but most of the Riesling flavor was gone. It would have been a nice wine if it had been stored properly.
