Hunted Lodi Zinfandel

I don’t normally drink Zinfandel but this one to me tastes nothing like a Zin. It’s very big and bold with a very high alcohol content.

A nice and simple Zinfandel from Lodi, California. Fruit forward with black fruits, chocolate notes, earth, oak, vanilla and spices.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Medium minus on the finish with soft tannins.

Very drinkable and a good everyday wine.

14.8% alcohol by volume.

85 points.

This is a nice big Zin, fruit forward, lightly oaky.

Light oak and leather with some grassy notes. Big mouth feel but short lightly tannic finish. Was a decent zin. We have had ones we liked more as this one led a little more towards the sweet side than the ones we enjoy. But it was fine.

Sweet on the finish. Seemed like high alcohol content but wasn’t listed on the bottle. Was over all so-so with no real characteristics to talk about.

Total Wine I believe. I liked it
