Ovum Wines
Old Love White Blend
It’s Riesling and maybe something else. Proprietary vinification. Personally I prefer the Old Salt to this but it’s worth trying. The label promises blood orange, salty lemon and aloe vera flavors, which is fairly accurate. It’s dry, medium bodied (13.2% alc/vol) and a good drink, but is it a Riesling style you can embrace? Mostly, I can

Jun 22nd, 2023What's with these Ovum wines being so available, so cheap, so charismatic. Theyr'e all over Texas and there's barely any information on the web site. Old Love I love just like Big Salt - underprice, over deliver. Makes me think of mountains. Opulent big alpine style - German or Northern Italian. Florals and fruits, more like Gerwutz than Riesling. Tastes like juicy naval orange, sour tangerine, white flowers. Everything I want when I don't want to think too hard.
