Ontañon located outside of Logroño, sources fruit from their own vineyards in Rioja Baja. High elevation, isolated vineyards, gently sloping on poor, stony soils, wines showing richness of fruit. Had this at a tapas bar, juicy sweet red fruit aromas with subtle spice. On the palate cherry and blackberry with notes of cacao. Nicely balanced with fine tannins on medium finish ending with an earthy mineral character.

Dark purple heavy staining and tears.. Dark berry very fruitful Forward nose dark cherries lots of wood and spice aromas, vanilla and dill med tannin lots of acidity and a very long finish

this #wine is in a great spot but still has room on the upside of the lifecycle. Bright red fruit, higher acid than I'd expect. Integrated, dusty oak tannins. Happier with this at $16.99 than the 95 gran reserva I had last year for $35.
