Excellent, burgundian thinking somehow though unabashedly tempranillo. Not modern but no old-style rusticity or VA.

Up north near Basque region (north of Haro). Winemaker is from Burgundy and brought refined approach to Tempranillo . Reminds me of very high end Bobal (La Estrecha, one from fav SF wine shop). Medium + body and smooth soft palate. Ripe red fruit and as with all things Basque food... delicious and can’t wait to have more.
Had in Santa Barbara with Laura at Spanish restaurant
