Only six thousand bottles from a 1 ha plot! A perennial favourite of mine. Love the tightrope balance of opulence and restraint. Slightly tannic, delicious texture. Nutty, appley and immensely complex.

Aug 27th, 2017Lemon-green color. Rich expressive floral and mineral nose. Extensive flavors of brioche, candied citrus notes, honey, caramel. Thick creamy taste. Precise master work with oak.
Blended from 2 plots from Domain together with grapes bought from 2 neighbors. Average age of the vines - 25 years. Vinification a-la Bourgogne. Abbaye de Morgeot is a tiny 1er Cru vineyard within the larger Morgeot climat in Chassagne-Montrachet. It is located on the lower slopes of the Cote d'Or. Its soil is deeper and more clayey limestone than elsewhere, providing a well-drained terroir with plenty of mineral complexity. Its rich history and excellent terroir give it a commercial advantage over other Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru wines.
Rating 4,2/5
