Big tar, macerated cherries, dried leaves, roses, dried and fresh and a depth to it. Very deep aromas. Palate is opulent, yet stern and juicy with fantastic purity and balance. Great finish. Long and juicy. Nice sweet fruit on the finish. Black cherry and mid season cherry. Great wine. Love 18. Nose is fantastic after 3 hours. Super floral and so enveloping. Palate is velvety but firm. Very fresh and classy wine.

Jan 20th, 2024Better 17’s than 16’s here and it’s really remarkable. Gorgeous nose of super aromatic tar, florals, roses, deep cherry fruit, candied cherries and so precise. Palate is so pure, balanced and has wonderful sweet tannins and that are silky yet substantial. Buffered by terrific minerality. Concentrated and intense and like all 17’s this needs mega air as 17’s come tight out of the bottle with significant tannin. After 15 minutes the tannin fruit conversion is awesome! 9.4 to 9.5.

Nov 9th, 2021What a great wine. Wonderful nose. Campfire, cherries, spice, graphite. A bit quiet but the detail and aromatic precision are stunning. What a palate. So deep, so rich, so pure, so complex, big 17 tannins and wonderful balance and freshness. So long. This is exquisite. Once nose opens up I cannot wait. So much energy and precision. Structured for the long haul. This is brilliant now but needs air. So much more to say. Nose is now getting mintier. Like a wild mint. This is fantastic! I’ll be back.

As it airs spice comes out. What a wine and vintage. 16 never lets down. Palate is epic. Concentrated and focused cherry with terrific and substantial structure. This is a very serious wine. Amazing finish. Cherry echoes on the palate forever. Mingled with roses. Elegant and also dense. It unfurls on the palate and had clearly defined cherry:sour cherry fruit that is of the tiny berry quantity. Really saturating palate and dense fruit. This need ideally 5-10 years but the material is remarkable.

Palate is bright cherries. Sour cherries. Wow Terrific. So Chewy. As this opens arakis level spice. Gorgeous. Dense dense dense.
As this opens it gets even better. Spicy. Some licorice. Great fruit. Amazing. I’m only giving this a 9.5 for some reason.
