Second bottle of 64' Oddero opened within the week. Unlike the first one, this was stellar. Stood up for over a month, then decanted off its sediments for 4 hours. The bouquet hits you with brandy-macerated cherries, dried florals, tobacco, spices and a menthol-ly character. The bright translucent burg-like colour is perhaps deceptive in view of its concentration. On the palate, the wine is intense, full-bodied, and pure, with very inviting acids and seamless texture. Finishes long and focused. So harmonius right now that it was gone in no time at all. Certainly fits the coveted bill of 'power without weight'.

Madeirised, with plenty of acid. From the same case as the stellar 64' opened a week later. First and only bad bottle in the batch according to G.

Strong Madeira on the nose but a beautiful soft translucent cherry color. Purity of fruit and some length but the sherry note is too dominant for this to be exceptional.

Plummy and clean. Stinky nose with violets and well-integrated tannin. Rustic at front but then became clean. Old school but very fresh. Good, good

Excellent Barolo, needed to be decanted. Very complex with several layers. Aged very well, I think that well storaged can last a few years more.
