Well, well, well....my second bottle of Occidental Pinot in as many weeks. I got to say these are awesome wines. Given the growing challenges in 2011 in Sonoma and Napa counties, I can say this is one of my favs from the vintage!

Nose off, truffles & mold, slightly effervescent/ cola like, body medium full but with bitter finish. All in all a flawed bottle that was quite disappointing having waited so long to let it age.

Sparkling, no fruit, bitter. Maturation problem. Great for cooking meat.

This is gorgeous! Amazing with an hour of air. Drake red fruit with a light spritz of fresh strawberry, a hint of tobacco, and some dried herbs.

More red fruit than black fruit. Lots of alcohol in the first couple of glasses post opening but then settled in with a beautiful finish on the backend and inviting nose on the front end.

Huge, slightly jammy Pinot compared to others from Kistler. Still delicious, but more recent vintages seem more balanced.
