A unique ‘American Oak’ version of the Merlot. The winery uses French Oak on all wines. Cardamom and cloves are strong in this.

We typically love our O’Briens, but this one was a bit more tannic, dirt, leather driven then I would expect from a Merlot. Opened up a bit with time and air. Black cherry shined through 1/2 hour in.

Tasting notes from the O'Brien Estate wine dinner...what a merlot! The epitome of a "cab lovers merlot" based on the body and mouth feel. This was paired with a dessert and it worked so well. Can only imagine what the reserve merlot taste like!

One of our favorite vintners delivers on the Merlot. A bit high in alcohol, but smooth nonetheless.

For whatever reason this #merlot made me think of Luxardo cherries. Not bad with the ribeye that we bbq'd for the evening.

Dark cherry, plum, sweet oak. Really nice & smooth for a big wine.

Our newest member to the household...made a spectacular start. A well balanced merlot that showed its soft side tonight.
