A fun wine to accompany the Futo tasting, from the property that eventually became the core of Futo’s Oakville vineyard. Made by Heidi Barrett. This exceeded my expectations and still had lovely layers of fresh fruit. It shows what excellent terroir can accomplish irrespective of winemaker.

Oct 16th, 2019From the property that eventually became Futo, this 26-year-old Cabernet is still lively with red fruit and notes of cedar and dried herbs. Pretty nice and very interesting for the $24 I paid for it recently.

Wonderfully soft shoulders and sublime cab richness. This is 20 years old and probably not getting better. Great back if the cellar find! I'll keep looking.
