2017 vintage. Merlot from Lodi (subAVA Mokelumne River). Apparently this is the first vintage produced from an estate vineyard planted in 2014.Intensely perfumed with raspberry jam, roasted coffee beans and vanilla. Jammy fruit in the mouth with obvious toasty oak, but not drying. Not exactly refined, but if you fancy bold in-your-face reds this will definitely appeal to you. A bit heavy, I can't drink more than one glass. Abv. 15,5%, serve slightly chilled to keep the alcohol in check.
