Still ruby center with bricking rims. Clean and almost opaque. Big nose with notes of chicory, pencil lead, dried raspberries, dry earth and menthol. Perfectly balanced in the mouth with nice fruit matching softened tannins. Great finish. Oops, I thought I had grabbed the 90 Clape Cornas, this was an accidental upgrade.

Hard to believe this wine is 26 years old. Still has structure in tact and all you'd expect from Northern Rhone--black pepper, leather and wild game, whisper of black currant.

A bloody, beast of a wine. But delicious! Great acidity and length.

Very thin for a Cornas, tertiary aromas are beginning to disintegrate.

From magnum - this showed well, but maybe not as well as I had hoped. That being said, plenty of classic Northern Rhône Syrah notes on the nose and a beautiful delicate anise-laced finish. Just missing a little bit in the mid palate for it to be great. But still, I wasn't complaining.

Noel Verset. Has those exotic terroir and stone elements that make Cornas so special. The wine is a little watery with the fruit somewhat absent at first but builds over 3 hrs into a very special experience.
