For about 16$ you get a lithe, medium bodied 90% Chiavennasca (local version of Nebbiolo), 10% merlot with an ease on the palate- ‘suppose that’s the influence of the Merlot. Builds in power & depth with air. Sweet rose hips, wild berries, underbrush. Nice back end length though the sweetness not my thing. For Nebbiolo fiends, a real find. Only about 1800 bottles imported, according to its importer, Wildman.

The bouquet of Nino Negri's '99 #Quadrio showed fully mature with notes of tart cherry, spiced orange peel, cedar, dusty dried flowers and undergrowth. On the palate, I found zesty textures on a wiry frame with lively acidity, showing red wild berries, cedar and hints of savory spice. It finished with medium length lingering on inner dried florals, tart cherry and minerals.

Sep 21st, 2016For the price, what a great value - an everyday wine with your meal. This is a Nebbiolo blend and the Merlot does show through.
