Palate of; M+ dusty tannins, black currants, blackberries, black plum, black raspberries & black cherries. The fruits are; sweet, fresh & ripe. Light loamy soils, crushed rock powder, sweet soft leather, roses, fresh red flowers, & violets. The texture, structure and balance are very good. Finish is; rich, ripe & well polished with good acidity. Barrel tasted the 2016 vintage at the Nickel & Nickel Entrecôte. Photos of the Quicksilver vineyard, vineyard loamy soil and the old carriage. The Quicksilver vineyard is located on the Western Rutherford Bench on Bella Oaks Lane.

Second Cabernet Sauvignon from Nickel & Nickel today. Deep purplish ruby red. A touch more approachable than the State Ranch. A touch of the classic 'Rutherford Dust' on the attack of the nose with mixed dark spices and black fruits bringing up the rear. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and full bodied. Definitely has some more baking spices than the State Ranch and was a tad more integrated. Rich mouthfeel with a touch of anise and black currants. Long finish. Drink till 2026.

Deep ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of black fruit, iron and wet soil. Flavors of blackberry, black plum, dark chocolate and baking spices. Noticeable “Rutherford Dust” on the long, earthy and savory finish. Soft tannins. Alcohol and acidity are quite abundant and noticeable. Lower (more Medium) bodied then I expected. Well balanced and quite interesting.
