Popped and poured by our host. Dark purple. Nice Cal Cab nose. Notes of black fruit, tobacco leaf, some mocha and some spice. Rich and very approachable in the mouth. The decade of age has put this in a great spot tonight.

Blueberries and crushed rocks. Decent fruit and tannin, but overall it lacked weight, depth, and concentration. The good news here is we had a great time watching my daughter compete in her first international gymnastics meet. As @Mike Rowe would say; SMILES all around!

Blueberry jam, dark raspberries, blackberries, boysenberries, meaty dry tannins, slightly bitty minerals, leather and dry crushed rocks. One of the top 5 of the 14 presented.

Nose of dark cherry, licorice, spice and plum. On the palate dark berries and plums predominate. Rich and velvety texture. Long finish with smooth chocolate completion. $80 at ABC. Excellent cab.

Palate of; black currants, black plums, blackberries, dark cherries, strawberries, plums, raspberries, black raspberries, warm spices that lift in intensity, powder of crushed dry rocks, volcanic minerals, touch of iron & black cherry licorice. The mouthfeel is; rich, ripe, round lush & juicy. Structure, balance and length is well crafted. The long finish gives a creaminess to the fruit. Barrel tasted the 2016 vintage at the Nickel & Nickel Entrecôte. Photos of the "Quarry Vineyard," white rocky loamy soil and their on-site lab. The Quarry vineyard is apart of the Rutherford AVA.

This was decent. The savory notes dominated - mostly I picked up green peppers and olives. No real depth either.
