On the nose, mulberries, black currants, blackberries, blueberries, anise, dark earth violets and perfumed dark florals. Body is leaner than previous vintages I've had. Dusty medium tannins, blueberries, blackberries, mulberries, dark cherries, dark chocolate, mocha, gritty chalky minerals, light caramel & vanilla, Tannins get gluier with black currants & some tarry notes on the longer finish. Barrel tasted the 2016 vintage at the Nickel & Nickel Entrecôte. Photos of the environment they set up for their cellar tasting and the lunch served on the grounds afterwards.

Has been and continues to be one of my favorite N&N vineyards. Big ripe black fruit, big juicy mouthfeel upfront. Nice plush tannins and a nice ripe fruit finish. Not complex but very enjoyable!

Jun 5th, 2022Nice solid Napa cab. Ripe but not jammy black fruit. Vanilla, earthy, pipe tobacco, plum, blackberry, currant, lavender. Nice structure. Lot of subtleties in this one. Drinking very well with short decant. Nice medium + finish.
