Youthful merlot with attitude. Harris is my middle name! Clear, day bright, purple with pink rim, medium viscosity. Nose: powerful, young, minerality and chalky notes. French oak smelling of vanilla icing and marble cake. Makes me think of a wedding. Palate: velvet mouth feel, dry, med+ body, black current, cranberry and tart plum skin, astringent-perfume notes, the oak leaves a vanilla/amaretto type of note. Cherry vanilla. High firm tannins that rip your lips up, med+ alcohol, med acid, med+ finish, medium complexity. My first nickel and nickel......cant wait to try vinous versions.

Opening a bottle of their 2012 Suscol Ranch Merlot, aged for 17 months on French oak (52% new), showing beautiful fresh aromas of dark fruits and berries with a gentle cedar notes. On the palate juicy fresh fruit, plum and blackberry with toasty oak, white pepper and earthy tones, very unique flavor. Smooth tannins, well balanced on a lingering finish great now but cellar will benefit.

100% Merlot sourced from the Harris Vineyard in western Oakville area of Napa. Clear deep Ruby with full red fruit aromas and cedar spice. On the palate raspberry, cherry and strawberry with smoky oak and cinnamon notes. Full body, soft tannins on a lingering finish ending with a touch of spice.
