Nice Wines
The Vixen Grenache Syrah
#pasorobles Rhône-style blend from Nice Winery. The winemaker has threaded a nice balance between CA fruit-forward and Old World styles. Dark bramble fruit, plum and much more shy savory, meaty notes on the nose. Acid up-front in your palate but the savory notes assert themselves, some black olive, black pepper, oak spice on the finish. Great wine to pair with BBQ, pizza or white sauce pasta.

A fun, juicy Southern Rhône expression from Central Coast, CA. Nice layers of dark fruits and red fruits on the nose with hints of tobacco and spice. On the palate a suave, easy-drinking selection that is sure to keep the table of guests pleased.

May 10th, 20172014 Nice Winery The Vixen is a red blend of Grenache and syrah from Sonoma Coast with a Paicines locale. Discovered this wine when I was researching the Quatre Vins Bianco white with Oakville Chardonnay and Mt Veeder Roussanne, Marsanne, and Viognier. That for ANOTHER day. This red blend caught the ride along with the Bianco. Poured a light violet color. Nose of purple and red fruit. Had a little acidity on the entry. Front is purple and red fruit, all youthful. Middle is dense and darker. Figs and grilled meat. Delicious with pizza. Finished with some tannin. Good structure to this wine, but better in 2 or 3 years I think.
