Eighth wine and sixth from Howell Mountain. Deep garnet red. Very tight initially on the nose with some undertones of red fruits, slight vegetal characteristics and some metallic elements. Heavy tannins (8/10) with a moderate body that leads to a long dry finish. A little bit of minerality, some earthiness and vegetal notes apparent throughout. Tannins still lingering into the finish. Drink til 2023. Bottle number 4823.

I am such a fan of Neal wines. 2005 is tastings perfect right now! Notes of leather, cedar, a little licorice, dry finish with silky tannins and deep, red currant and cassis notes. Delish!! #cabernetsauvignon #neal #napa #2005

This guy is rocking! Jammed so thick with cassis and black rose, I can see fruit of all dark colors for miles. It was a treat for sure.

1hr+ decant and could have used more. Dark red color with purple rims. Dense, fruit forward Cab. Lots of red and black fruit with some licorice and tar. Medium plus depth. Medium finish. Very nice and very California. 94.5 but rounding up.

Aug 7th, 20211hr+ decant. Awesome as always and extremely consistent, see previous notes. Big French influence. Dark fruit and lots of earth and terroir. Finish could be longer, but these wines always rock!

Apr 18th, 2021It’s Neal so it’s always a awesome! 1hr+ decant. Similar to previous notes although the oak was more prominent in this bottle. Fantastic! Would drink sooner rather than later.
