Douro Tinta Barroca
Lacked a little bit of palate, but bright acidic fruit upfront and spice in the end. Enjoyed.

A bit chewy, but seeing as its fluid and has these cherries and tar vibe it’s like drinking good Nebbiolo for less. Fun.

Jan 12th, 2024Enjoyable red wine from the douro. High altitude vines and it shows. Definitely needs a bit of a chill, but delicious with a variety of foods at Laser Wolf.

May 13th, 2023How fascinating! Extracted but the tannins are very very subtle, very perfumed - violets and roses, but not particularly intense. Soft, easy, a summer drink despite the colour. I suspect the greener and more rosehippy elements in the finish might put off some, but I like it a lot.

Oct 16th, 2022100% Tinta Barroca, one of the most planted varieties in the Douro, where it is generally used for port blends. From a north-facing plot in Meda (Douro Superior) at 600m elevation. Fermented and aged in concrete vats. Beautiful, fragrant nose. Aromas of ripe fruit (strawberries, strawberry jam and black currant). Medium bodied, bright fruit on the palate. High acidity.
