Muses Estate (Ktima Mousson)
Mouhtaro
By far the most earthly wine I ever tried. Wind, smoke, pronounced grilled bread when just opened. A really rare variety, Mouhtaro, fortunately not to be found easily. Like a good poetry.

It is cultivated and vinified only in the Valley of the Muses. Deep purple color, with aromas of ripe red fruits and big spices, full-bodied, with pronounced tannins and noticeable acidity. A unique wine with a taste unlike other red wines. Tasting Sample.

Our local greek wineseller Kostas ❤️ told me to try this wine from the curious grape Mouhtaro. Rescued thanks to Athanasios Zacharias, only grown in the Valley of the Muses. It’s absolute fantastic 💥💥💥 A smell like a ripened St Estephe: earthy, flint, só rich with impressions of chocolate, vannilla, mocca combined with red fruit like cherries springing up... and I did not mention the spicyness (reminded me of Musar Libanon). The taste is very compelling, smooth and insidious easy drinking. 🙃 I bow my head deeply for the winemaker! / Paired with grilled Tunafish and pepper bell with capers / Trouvaille!!
