The nose is stewed fig, chocolate, and oak. The palate offers more chocolate, vanilla, cola, black tea, ripe fig, and molasses. Medium plus alcohol, medium plus tannins, and high acid. I’m thinking meatloaf or pork loin as a match.

The nose is mulled fruit and dark chocolate. In the mouth raisin and cinnamon give way to cocoa, molasses, vanilla and clove. The body goes slightly grape juicy at the end, but chewy tannins and moderate acid kick in at the finish. Dark and uneven, I doubt the 2013 will improve much with age and probably needs to be drunk this decade.

Total Wine - $19 - recommended by salesperson. Will rate when I try it. Very good. Smooth, dark fruit taste, non-lingering finish. Will buy again.

Must be past its prime. Molasses start and flat grape juice finish. No tannins and not much acid. The 2009 is no longer worth drinking.

Wow a Cab that is surprisingly so light bodied that I thought it was a Pinot. Very enjoyable.

Oaky, but not over powering. Very good with light food or by itself.
