Dull ruby red in the glass. Smoked bacon, raisin, sweet red fruit on the nose. A meaty, “salty”, fairly acidic, thin body with a mildly astringent, moderately tannic finish. Wished it had more body and more fruit flavor in the “midrange”, but enjoyed the delicacy and the complexity.

Reminds me of some Swiss Pinot Noirs in a way. Very aromatic, tarry rope and cigar. Rounded mouthfeel. But not great on flavor. Smoky, earthy, almost no fruit and a lot of acidity. Very subdued tannins but a long and quite bitter finish. Strangely reminiscent of an IPA of all things.

Is fine with light touch along with great aroma, but impression is shallow.
